Rabbits

Rabbits are permitted in Montreal. However, you must have your rabbit spayed or neutered if he or she is more than 6 months old, and you must comply with the limit on the number of pets per dwelling.

Chickens

Keeping egg-laying hens is prohibited in Montréal. Only certain boroughs allow it as part of pilot projects.

Pigs

Pigs are prohibited in Montréal. Only people who already had a pig before the summer of 2018, got the required license and renewed it annually may keep their pig.
