Animal sterilization offered free of charge to low-income households

People with low incomes can have their dogs and cats sterilized free of charge through the animal sterilization program.

Description

An eligible guardian can have a maximum of two animals per household sterilized free of charge.

Sterilization and microchipping of cats and dogs is mandatory within Montréal city limits.

If you do not hold a permit for your cat or dog, you must get one online, by mail, or in person by going to an Accès Montréal office.

Eligibility criteria

  • Be a resident of Montréal in the previous three months or more.
  • Your household income must be lower than the thresholds (after taxes).
