What is the Traffic and Road Safety Committee?

The Traffic and Road Safety Committee is made up of members of the municipal council and residents of the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough’s territory. Its mandate is to analyse and make recommendations on various issues related to traffic and road safety in the borough.

Job description

This committee mainly analyzes and issues recommendations and comments on any request subject to the traffic and road safety by-law in force.

The committee may also be consulted on any request concerning traffic and road safety issues in the borough. The committee is an advisory body, not a decision-making entity. The Borough Council nevertheless takes the committee’s recommendations into account before deciding on the issues listed above.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Be a resident of the central sector of the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, preferably in the area between boulevard Jacques-Bizard and boulevard des Sources;
  • Demonstrate openness and rigor when analyzing files;
  • Be available for traffic committee meetings, approximately twelve (12) times a year. Meetings are held at times determined by the committee;
  • Have knowledge of traffic and road signs (an asset).

Conditions

  • The term of office of members of the Traffic and Road Safety Committee is set at two (2) years and is renewable;
  • Committee members receive a financial contribution in the form of attendance fees;
  • Committee meetings are held during the day, on weekdays.
