City council meets on the third or fourth Monday of every month, except public holidays. A public question period is held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The council session runs until all the topics on the agenda have been covered.
If all the topics are not covered, the session continues on the following day at 9:30 a.m. and begins with a new public question period.
Monday
- Session: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Assistance for people with reduced mobility: 5:30 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.
- Registration for the random drawing: 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

- Question period: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tuesday (if the meeting is extended)
- Assistance for people with reduced mobility: 8:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.
- Registration for the random drawing: 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

- Question period: 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
1. Registering for the random drawing
The random drawing determines the order in which residents will ask their questions. On the day of the council meeting, go to the city hall, in the Lucien-Saulnier building located at 155 Rue Notre-Dame Est between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to register for the random drawing. You will be asked to show a valid photo ID.

The random drawing is held at 6:30 p.m.
3. Registering for the question period
When your number is drawn, go to the registration table with your photo ID and provide the following information:
- your first and last names
- the organization you represent, if such is the case
- the elected official to whom your question is addressed
- the subject of your question
You will be given a badge with your name on it and you are required to wear it throughout the process.
4. Question period
You will be required to wait your turn to submit your question.
Services offered on site:
- Assistance for people with reduced mobility
- Family room on the ground floor at city hall, with changing tables, armchairs and a breastfeeding area
- Drop-in daycare centre for children aged 1 to 12, available without a reservation. The centre is located on the ground floor at city hall. It is open on Monday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Tuesday, if the city council meeting is extended, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
